Note

Stuart was born and died in Victoria, but he spent most of his time at Gilgandra, NSW. Stuart moved with his family to Bearbong, Gilgandra, NSW when he was young. He was bought up on the farm and then bought a section of bearbong when he grew up. He called this new farm Gara, named after the property in Armidale. Stuart built a new house on Gara and lived there throughout his working life. He used to walk up from his house to the sheds and grind his oats for porridge for breakfast in the morning. Stuart had a great green thumb and had his yard full of apple, pear, apricot, peach and fig trees. He also grew many crops and had a few 1000 merino sheep. Stuart bought a grey Masey Ferguson and was often seen puttering around the farm on it. When Stuart retired he moved into town to live at Wamboin St, Gilgandra, NSW. He was to remain here until his last few years that he spend living at each of his children's homes. |
