We thought we could do another full day at Broken Hill, so we booked in for another night.
We first went to the Tourist information office to get the key for the “Living Desert”. This is a desert sculpture area 13km north of Broken Hill.
We then went down town and had a look for the pottery gallery. We found a pottery display at the town hall.
It was getting near lunch so we went over to South Broken Hill to a 1950s café. They didn’t have any lunch food, so we bought that and ate that in the park. We then went back to the café for milkshakes.
Next was off the “Living Desert”. This is a collection of statues that were done by artists around the world out in the desert.
We wondered around the sculptures and I also did a cache in the area. I was glad we got the key as there was a long walk up the hill if we didn’t. Some of the sculptures had graffiti on them.
We found a couple more galleries and then decided to get a Pro Hart. We bought a signed print. There were some paintings available and they were way too pricey.
By the end of a couple of days in Broken Hill we now knew most of the main artists.
We dropped grandma off and then drove around the town again on the Heritage Trail, getting some more photos.
When we were back at camp Rebecca fell off the swings onto her face. She lost her front tooth (that was a bit loose already) and grazed her lips and nose. There was blood everywhere. She is OK... very brave.
We went out for local Chinese cuisine and back to camp for an another early night.

We had the extra room put on the camper for Broken Hill so we could get some peace and quiet and privacy
